TL;DR: Your text never leaves your browser. We don't collect, store, or see anything you paste, and it is never sent to analytics tools. We only collect anonymous usage statistics to understand how the site is used.
Plain Paste does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information about you. All text processing happens entirely in your browser. Your content never touches our servers and we have no way to access or view what you paste.
We use your browser's local storage only to save your preferences and, optionally, your drafts:
This data never leaves your device and you can clear it anytime by clearing your browser's local storage or using incognito/private browsing mode.
We use Google Analytics 4 (via Google Tag Manager) to gather anonymous usage statistics including:
Google may process your IP address to derive approximate location, but no personal identifiers are stored by us. This data helps us understand how people use Plain Paste and guides improvements to the tool. We do not send any of the text you paste or type into Plain Paste to Google Analytics—only usage events such as page views and button clicks.
You can opt out of Google Analytics by:
Plain Paste does not set any first-party cookies. Google Analytics may set its own cookies for analytics purposes, which you can block using browser settings or extensions.
We do not embed any third-party trackers, pixels, social media widgets, or advertising networks beyond Google Analytics. Your usage remains private and we do not sell, share, or monetize your data in any way.
All traffic to and from Plain Paste is served over HTTPS, ensuring your connection is encrypted. We do not log IP addresses, store server logs with personal information, or maintain any database of user activity. Since all processing happens in your browser, your text never crosses the internet.
If you choose to use the social sharing buttons (Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook), you will be redirected to those platforms. Their respective privacy policies apply to any data shared through those services. Plain Paste does not receive any information about your social media activity.
Plain Paste does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13. The tool can be used by anyone without creating an account or providing any personal information.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of Plain Paste after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
Since we don't collect or store your personal data, there is no data to access, modify, or delete. You are in complete control of your browser's local storage and can clear it at any time through your browser settings.
